SHiFT® Program Questions

How does a partnership with ARS/SHiFT® help my business stand out?

ARS helps partners stand out as leaders through SHiFT® featured partner stories and industry initiatives, positioning your brand as a member of an elite recycling network.

Are there any exclusive benefits for certified recyclers?

Yes, with certain memberships and certifications, you gain exclusive discounts on vehicles. Verified members save 25-50% on vehicles. Reach out to us to find out if your business qualifies!

What are the requirements of the SHiFT® program?

SHiFT® vehicles may be parted out like any other vehicle you purchase from ARS, with the only exception that the engine cannot be resold whole (and therefore the whole vehicle cannot be resold). This program commits to donors that their vehicle and engine will be removed from circulation, however comprehensive part-out (including body parts and engine components) is encouraged.

What are the standard mBid Buyer Fees on SHiFT® units?

The SHiFT® program is a stated or bid amount with $0 Buyer Fees.

Who receives the proceeds from my SHiFT® purchase?

SHiFT® has partnered with Automotive Recycling Training Institute (ARTI) and proceeds are donated to support their training programs for recycling partners.

How quickly am I expected to contact the Donor for a donated SHiFT® vehicle?

Buyers are expected to communicate with the Donor within 2 days of an assignment being placed.

Can I drive a donation vehicle from the pickup location?

No. Donation vehicles are typically end-of-life vehicles and can not be driven from pickup, vehicles must be towed.
