Take a deep breath: in through your nose, out through your mouth. Steady your breathing, center yourself, and buckle in to read about a unique vehicle donation to an even more incredible charity.

The Car: 1973 Mercedes-Benz W115

Mercedes-Benz donation to Mind Body Awareness Project

This unique little sedan – fewer than 188,000 were manufactured – had a quiet life, with fewer than 16,000 miles on the odometer at the time of donation. This model is known worldwide to Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts for its durability: in 2004, a Greek taxi driver donated his W115 to the Mercedez-Benz museum collection, and the odometer had recorded a whopping 4.6 million kilometers! The gas tank on this car holds less than a gallon of gas, so that taxi driver may have spent quite a bit of time refueling over the years…

Our donor chose to benefit more than just auto enthusiasts with their car donation, which is why they chose the Mind Body Awareness Project.

The Charity: Mind Body Awareness Project

Mind Body Awareness Project

The Mind Body Awareness Project has been helping at-risk youth since 2000, through a focus on mindfulness, meditation, and emotional literacy. MBA (Mind Body Awareness) Project is headquartered in Oakland, California, and primarily focuses their effort on local students and at-risk or incarcerated youth.

Their mission statement clearly outlines who they are and what they strive to achieve:

The core purpose of MBA Project is to awaken the intrinsic value of youth. We accomplish this through groundbreaking mindfulness-based direct service work that empowers incarcerated and at-risk youth to overcome trauma, transform negative behaviors, and find real freedom from the inside.

Not only does MBA Project integrate programs into youths’ daily lives, their highly educated and specialized research team works tirelessly to find the most effective way to positively influence high-risk youth. The educational programs vary, from meditative practices to hands-on experience in sustainable community gardens.

MBA Project also provides training guides for educators and organizers who are looking to benefit their own communities, and help spread useful practices far and wide. They do incredible work, and are recognized for it, receiving an accolade on the 2016 Top-Rated Nonprofits List!

If you feel inspired by their efforts, an auto donation is a great way to ensure the MBA Project has the resources to continue their innovative work.

How You Can Help

Even if you don’t have a spectacular antique, you can help Mind Body Awareness Project by donating your car, no matter the age or condition. Your car will be towed away for free and on average, between 70-80% of the proceeds will directly benefit MBA Project and enable them to continue providing at-risk youth with the skills to healthily navigate a dangerous world.

It is easier than you think to donate your car! You can start online, or call a friendly representative at 977-999-8322 to get started. After that, you’ll hear from a local towing agency to schedule a mutually convenient pickup time. Before you know it, your donated vehicle will be picked up, sold at auction, and the proceeds will be helping this amazing charity! Even better, you can claim a tax deduction for your charitable donation!

Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth, and call us at 977-999-8322 or visit our website to help provide mindfulness education to at-risk youth!
